Trout Unlimited: Culvert on Rainey Creek, a tributary of the South Fork of the Snake River in Idaho. TU Project Manager Matt Woodard wanted to replace this culvert with a bridge but was unable to do so due to heavy resistance from the land owner and the high expense. However, what was a hugh plunge pool on the downstream side of the culvert was filled in to elevate the water level and thus help cutthroat trout enter the culvert so they could run upstream to historic spawing areas.
